Card Captor Sakura artbook
Only 48h to go before the Card Captor Sakura 20th Anniversary Illustration book is released in Japan!

[nakayoshi] [natalie.mu]

The final cover was revealed today:

As announced by CLAMP in their radio program, the outward looks comes in pair with the re-edition of the manga, and when you put them next to each other, they form a collection. The shiny gold frames is part of the clear case that comes together with the artbook.
This is definitely one of my favorite CCS artbooks covers ^^

Also, there are plans for the brand BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT to release a dress similar to the one Sakura is wearing on the artbook cover.

At the end of the post, they wrote that "これからも続々と動き出す「カードキャプターさくら」プロジェクトを、どうぞお楽しみに!!" = Now also begins to move one after another, "Card Captor Sakura" project, Please look forward to it !
Nonetheless, I don't know if this is just whatever sentence saying that more things will be announced and done for CCS 20th anniversary this year, which we already know, or if this is an actual precise annoucemend about a concrete project. I think it is the former personally.

EDIT: here goes "real" pics of the illustration book, shared on Animate's and Akihabara's twitter accounts

EXTRA INFO: it has a hard cover! [tanabata777_m twitter account]

Aww it's even more beautiful with the golden frame ;3; I have a question though, what is the exact date of their 20th anniversary :0?

Hello~

About CCS 20th Anniversary, as you can see, it's the whole year of 2016, considering the time it takes to 'celebrate' it by releasing goods and doing events. SO yeah: CCS manga started in 1996, it's 20 anniversary is 2016.

I am also sure a lot of people, maybe even CLAMP themselves, consider it's their most emblematic date: April 1st, which is the birthday of their heroine, Sakura, and many other of their most beloved characters + it's CLAMP Day.

Nonetheless, if you really want the exact date, which would be when chapter 1 of the manga was released, it would be May 1996.

Ooh right, that makes sense x) that's why a certain date was never mentioned. Thank you for the explanation ^-^!

Hi Cutesherry ! :) ... I can't wait for your review of this artbook , I keep telling myself I don't have to get it because I already have the original three artbooks but I think the ice breaker will be that chronology summary added plus how awesome the artbook actually looks ... But at this rate most likely I will end up getting it anyway lol XD ... Where is my willpower ? T_T ... None when it comes to clamp goodies

If everything goes well (which it will, because I say so! XD), I should be getting it next week ^__^ Chances are tons of things about it will be leaked by then though hahaha~
By the way, it was revealed that it had a hard cover, unlike the others artbooks which all had soft ones!
I updated the entry with more photos and you can see it ^_^

Wow! It looks amazing! XD Just a few questions, though. What is the product below the Artbook? The Clow? Which specific version is it?! Thank youuuu!
cutesherry on April 11th, 2016 06:58 am (UTC)
This is indeed the Clow Book, you can find for sale (international) on the following websites:

amazon japan

CDJapan

This book was released for the first time in January 2015, and was reissued many times since then: it kept going out of stock again and again, and reissued every few months, than vanishing again...getting it felt like mission impossible ^^;;

Nonetheless, right now, for the 20th anniversary of the series, it is actually available once more, so go for it if you are interested!

Quick question: do you think the 20th Anniversary Nakayoshi edition will be released in English? The rerelease of the Sailor Moon manga in English leads me to hope so. ^^;
